The sustainability concept that we have been fostering for over two centuries and seven generations goes far beyond the mere aspect of ecology. We’ve always had a clear core vision: working closely with our staff and partners to create unique living environments and preserve them for future generations. In this respect, ADLER remains a social and ecological pioneer for its commitment to innovation and accountability, including towards the surrounding environment.

EarthCheck was established in 1987 and is one of the leading environmental certification programmes for the tourist industry. Its partners include research centres and prestigious universities across the globe. It has been accredited by the GSTC and its guidelines were developed based on international certification principles and the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Terra Institute is an international consulting team specialised in guiding companies through the transition to a sustainable management strategy. They have been by our side from the very start of this journey, and will continue to accompany us as we progress.

A clear sign of lived responsibility – all our ADLER Spa Resorts & Lodges in South Tyrol – ADLER Spa Resort DOLOMITI, ADLER Spa Resort BALANCE, ADLER Lodge ALPE and ADLER Lodge RITTEN – have now been awarded the South Tyrol Sustainability Seal.

At the highest level, Level 3, this quality label stands for a deep and holistic commitment to environmental protection, regional value creation, and social responsibility. It is based on the internationally recognised criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and honours those who are especially dedicated to preserving South Tyrol’s unique natural environment and supporting its communities – with a sustainability approach that encompasses all areas of operation.

Achieving this certification requires a clear strategy, a comprehensive action plan, and a system for continuous monitoring and improvement. All aspects of sustainability are communicated transparently and are regularly certified by an independent institution – in our case, EarthCheck.

This recognition reaffirms our path: to manage resources mindfully, strengthen local collaboration, foster respectful relationships with employees and partners, and offer our guests authentic, nature-based relaxation – in harmony with the values and culture of South Tyrol.
